Cone Beam CT Scan

An image of a CS 9300 scanning system At Gateway Dental Columbus, we use a Sirona Galileos CBCT system to capture three-dimensional images of your teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. These images help Dr. Strickland evaluate your dental anatomy and plan treatment based on your individual needs.

Cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT, provides a three-dimensional view that adds information beyond traditional two-dimensional dental X-rays. When clinically appropriate, this imaging can help Dr. Strickland assess available bone for dental implants, evaluate tooth positions, and identify nearby anatomical structures relevant to treatment.

Your imaging needs are determined following a review of your dental concerns and planned treatment. Our team will explain why a CBCT scan is recommended and answer any questions you have about the imaging process.

Supporting Personalized Treatment Planning

The Sirona Galileos CBCT system supports treatment planning at Gateway Dental Columbus LLC by providing detailed views of your dental anatomy. These images also help us explain our findings and discuss your treatment options with you.

When needed, images can be shared with other providers involved in your treatment to support communication and coordination of your care.
